Hastings Green Party is very pleased to announce Yunis Smith Green Party Campaigner is the candidate for Baird Ward.

My name is Yunis, however, some may know me as Lewis. I want to be Baird’s new councillor for many reasons. I grew up in and around Baird, and I believe it is an integral part of Hastings’ community. It’s home to Hastings United Football Club, Hastings Crematorium, and our children’s centre – all key services located within Baird!

Despite all these wonderful aspects, Baird is a somewhat forgotten ward. This is what has inspired me to run – I want to help bring pride back to Baird.

I’m an incredibly passionate person who believes that in life, what matters are our deeds and our hard work. I thrive in difficult situations, and I live by principles that encourage me to always do more for my community and to gain knowledge and work hard. It is these characteristics that make great councillors, and this is what I would bring to office if elected.

Why vote in the same way to achieve a different result? Now is the time to vote differently, to achieve something different, something better. Now is the time for a better Baird for all!
